The story
At Soleil d’Or by David Geisser in Sankt Gallen, haute cuisine takes on a distinctly personal form. The restaurant’s philosophy is built on the principle of taking from nature only when it is ready to give, and only as much as needed. This respect for ingredients is the foundation of an ever-changing menu that delivers surprises with every visit.
Every two to three months, the team, led by Benjamin Geisser, introduces a completely new culinary concept. Themes have included a menu dedicated to the Lake Constance region, one exploring "Switzerland in metres of altitude," a fairy-tale menu, and creations inspired by outstanding artists. The result is a series of international dining experiences that are born in Switzerland but inspired by the world. This commitment to creativity and high-quality cooking earned the restaurant a Michelin star.
The atmosphere is designed to match the ambition of the plates. Guests can enjoy a carefully composed menu of creative dishes, paired with an exclusive selection of wines from Europe and the New World, or creative cocktails from the bar. The menu is available as a PDF, allowing guests to preview the current culinary journey before they arrive.
For those who prefer to dine at home, Soleil d’Or also offers meal kits. The restaurant is open for dinner from Wednesday to Saturday, with private parties and outdoor seating available.
