The story
The Villa am See sits directly on the shores of Lake Constance in Goldach, its large windows and terrace framing a panoramic view of the water. The dining room feels warm and inviting, while a spacious pavilion extends the season for al fresco meals. In summer, the terrace and the adjacent Villa Bar become natural gathering places. The atmosphere is, in the chef’s own words, “elevated but not pretentious.”
Sandro Lüthi is both host and chef. After his apprenticeship, he worked in several restaurants and hotels before completing the Swiss federal chef de cuisine diploma at 22 – the youngest in his year to earn the qualification, and with distinction. “Cooking is not just a profession, but my calling,” he says. As the new tenant of the recently renovated Villa am See, he has made it his mission to create a haven for those who appreciate genuine, thoughtful cooking.
Lüthi’s modern cuisine is the heart of the restaurant. The kitchen changes with the seasons, and the menu reflects a clear, precise style that lets ingredients speak. The Michelin guide recognised this quality with a Recommended distinction for 2026, placing the Villa am See among Switzerland’s noteworthy tables. Guests can also look forward to special events like the Grill Day Party, held in collaboration with AZADO, combining grilled dishes with champagne, wine, and good music. Whether for a leisurely lunch, a refined dinner, or a drink at the bar, the Villa am See offers a genuinely welcoming escape on the lake.
