The story
In the heart of Sursee’s old town, Chez Be is a small, chic bistro where the spirit of a classic French bistro meets the warmth of Swiss hospitality. Chef de cuisine “Be” and host Romy drew inspiration from their travels through France to create a place that feels like a quick escape to the Provence, Brittany, or the Côte d’Azur. With only 25 seats, the dining room is intimate and magnifique – a setting that encourages lingering over a meal and a glass of wine.
The kitchen works with seasonal ingredients and refined techniques, turning out Mediterranean cuisine that is both haute cuisine and visually delightful. At lunch, guests can choose from a changing menu, while evenings offer either a 3-course set menu or à la carte specialities. The wine list, curated to match the food, features selections from France and Switzerland, including Champagne and Crémant. The restaurant’s commitment to quality and atmosphere has earned it a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026, a recognition that aligns naturally with the careful sourcing and cooking on display.
Chez Be is open Wednesday through Saturday, serving lunch from 11:30 to 14:15 and dinner from 18:00 to 23:00. The team’s passion for French savoir-vivre – the art of living and enjoying life – is evident in every detail, from the friendly service to the carefully composed plates. Whether you stop in for a midday meal or an evening à la carte dinner with friends, the experience is one of genuine hospitality and refined, Mediterranean-inspired cooking.
