The story
For five generations, the Schibli family has welcomed guests to Landhotel Linde in Fislisbach, just outside Wettingen. Their philosophy is simple: treat every guest like family, blending enjoyment with sociability, tradition with modernity. The result is a warm, unpretentious atmosphere where Swiss hospitality feels natural, not staged.
At the heart of the restaurant is a seasonally inspired cross-section of bourgeois Swiss cuisine, prepared with care and fresh ingredients. The kitchen focuses on hearty, honest flavours that reflect the region. Felix Schibli, who runs the hotel and restaurant with Sarah Pente-Schibli, is clear about their approach: they aim to keep their ecological footprint as small as possible while still serving meat dishes in moderation, believing that mindful meat consumption can coexist with environmental responsibility.
The dining rooms are cosy and inviting, and when the weather cooperates, the garden terrace offers a tranquil spot for lunch or dinner. This straightforward, quality-driven approach to country cooking earned Linde a Michelin Bib Gourmand, an award that recognises good quality, good value cooking.
Linde is also a hotel with 33 comfortable rooms and a lively bar that opens daily from 5 PM (closed Sunday). The bar hosts small live events and is a gathering place for locals and guests alike. Private events for up to 120 people can be arranged in the restaurant's various indoor and outdoor spaces.
Whether you come for a meal, a drink, or a stay, Linde offers a genuine taste of Swiss country cooking in a setting that feels like home.
