The story
On the shores of Lake Zurich, Wöschi offers a style of dining its team calls "Casual Fine Dining": ambitious, surprising cooking that remains straightforward and accessible. The restaurant is run by chef David Klocksin and host Stephanie Ospelt, who together create an atmosphere that is both refined and genuinely welcoming.
Chef Klocksin’s kitchen focuses on deep, aromatic flavours. His processes often stretch over several days, giving ingredients the time they need to develop. The result is modern cuisine that is precise and bold, yet never fussy. There is no à la carte menu here. Instead, guests choose between four or five courses and are served a seasonal surprise menu that changes with what the market offers at its best.
The approach has earned Wöschi a Michelin star – a recognition chef Klocksin has received three times in previous roles, and which he brought to this restaurant in October 2023. Guests frequently note that the experience is "flawless" and "delivered without arrogance," praising the friendly, professional service.
The setting is part of the appeal. The restaurant sits directly on the lake in the Wollishofen quarter, with views that add to the evening without demanding attention. Stephanie Ospelt, a veteran of Zurich’s hospitality scene, ensures that everything from the service to the wine pairing runs smoothly.
Wöschi is open Tuesday to Saturday from 18:30, and additionally on Mondays during July and August. Dogs are welcome.
