Oii Abu Dhabi: Michelin-Recognised Mediterranean Restaurant & Café in Al Qana

Welcome to Oii

Oii, meaning “Hey!” in Portuguese, is a Southern European-inspired restaurant and café in Abu Dhabi’s Al Qana district. Its identity is deeply rooted in the warmth and vibe of the countries that form Europe’s southern region—Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Italy. The space channels the ambiance of a Mediterranean seaside spot in Italy or Spain, with the charm of a village café you might find in Greece or Portugal.

The restaurant was created by UAE-based F&B firm Restaurant Secrets Inc., with a menu developed by director of operations Brian Voelzing. Oii serves an all-day dining menu of signature creations, reimagining familiar dishes from across the region into unique, creatively presented plates. Guests can expect highlights like Portuguese rabanadas, Italy’s paccheri pasta with beef ragu and truffle, Greek feta saganaki with wild herb honey, and Spanish gambas pil pil.

Oii’s commitment to quality Mediterranean cuisine earned it a place in the Michelin Guide Bib Gourmand Abu Dhabi 2024, recognising its exceptional flavours and accessible dining experience.

The Santorini Bar & Atmosphere

A centrepiece of the restaurant is the Santorini! Bar, a gold bar that adds a touch of luxury to the space. Here, bartenders craft interesting mocktails “created with fire & ice,” bringing the vibes of Santorini beaches to the urban Abu Dhabi landscape. In cooler months, the bar moves outdoors for candle-lit evenings.

Oii describes its story as one of “laid back, barefoot luxury.” The restaurant is built around the idea of friendly conversations on large, happy social tables laden with good food to share. The menu includes a wide range of sharing platters, from small plates like grilled octopus with mojo rojo to larger options such as lamb gyro and wagyu rib eye.

A Taste of Southern Europe

The menu is a journey through Southern Europe, offering everything from breakfast dishes like Tuscan Benedict and truffle & egg crochetta to substantial medium plates. Pasta dishes such as spaghetti con pollo with pink sauce and burrata sit alongside Greek classics like chicken souvlaki and lamb cutlets with chimichurri.

Desserts include Oii’s own tiramisu, loukoumades with honey and cinnamon, and chocolate babka French toast. The drinks list features signature mocktails like the Skopelos Vibes with passion fruit and pineapple, and a full range of coffees, teas, and fresh juices.

Oii is open daily from 10am to 12am, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
