The story
Clap Dubai opened its doors in December 2020 on the 9th floor of Gate Village Building 11 in the Dubai International Financial Centre. Guests enter from the ground floor and ascend to a rooftop restaurant where an open kitchen and a buzzing atmosphere set the tone. The space, designed by Japanese designer Noriyoshi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt, features an eclectic chandelier composed of 2,100 toys – a playful nod to the OTAKU aesthetic that defines the interiors.
Clap’s concept blends food and music, creating an energetic yet refined environment. The menu focuses on innovative Japanese contemporary cuisine, with an emphasis on unexpected combinations that elevate traditional techniques. For the full experience, the restaurant recommends the Omakase menu – “I leave it up to you” in Japanese – where the chef curates a progression of dishes. An extensive champagne and wine list, alongside a notable sake selection, complements the meal.
Clap Dubai has earned a place in the Michelin Guide, receiving a Recommended status in 2026, reflecting its standing among the city’s fine dining destinations. The indoor restaurant, bar, and lounge flow onto an open-air terrace that offers views of the Dubai skyline. During the cooler months, the outdoor area is open from lunch until late, making it a sought-after spot for both business lunches and evening outings. A three-course set menu is available all day, Monday through Friday, for AED 130.
