The story
On the 43rd floor of Grosvenor House in Dubai Marina, City Social offers a dining experience defined by fire and sky. This Michelin-recommended restaurant is the work of celebrity chef Jason Atherton, whose career includes stints with Marco Pierre White, Pierre Koffmann, and Ferran Adrià, and whose London flagship Pollen Street Social earned a Michelin star within six months. At City Social, Atherton’s vision of modern cuisine is driven by a Josper wood-fired grill, delivering bold, smoky depth to every dish.
The restaurant is led by Executive Chef Dan Birk, who brings over 20 years of experience, 17 of them in Michelin-starred kitchens. Head Chef Nathan Dors, formerly of Birmingham’s Michelin-starred Simpsons, and Head Sommelier Lorenzo Abussi round out a team dedicated to precision and warmth. The menu changes with the seasons, but signatures include Wood-Fired Hokkaido Scallop with yuzu kosho butter, BBQ Wagyu Short Rib with celeriac crumb, and a playful City Social Ice Cream Game that challenges the palate with five secret white ice creams.
Beyond the food, City Social is a destination for its setting. The dining room and bar offer panoramic views of the Dubai Marina skyline, with interiors that shift from intimate corners to a lively bar under a triple chandelier. The bar serves handcrafted cocktails, premium wines, and spirits, with DJs adding energy later in the evening. The restaurant also accommodates private events with bespoke menus.
City Social’s recognition by the Michelin Guide underscores its place among Dubai’s finest restaurants. The cuisine is contemporary European with a wood-fired heart, making it a standout for anyone seeking refined modern cuisine in a spectacular high-rise setting.
