The story
At Banyan Tree Dubai on Bluewaters Island, Demon Duck delivers a straightforward yet playfully refined approach to much-loved Chinese and Asian classics. The restaurant, a Michelin Guide Dubai recommended spot since 2022, pairs its bold cuisine with a trendy, Hong Kong-inspired speakeasy-style bar.
The driving force is Michelin-starred chef Alvin Leung, the self-styled ‘Demon Chef.’ Known for audacious reimaginings of Chinese cuisine, Chef Alvin brings his signature innovation to every dish, infusing them with bold flavours, unexpected pairings, and theatrical flair.
The menu offers a creative twist on traditional Chinese and Pan-Asian flavours, drawing inspiration from rich culinary traditions. The signature is the 14-day aged Slow-Roasted Demon Duck, served with steamed calamansi buns and Chef Alvin’s house-made sauce. Other standout dishes include the rich and earthy Lobster Gao, and a decadent Chocolate & Matcha Fondant with brown rice ice cream.
Demon Duck also hosts a Saturday brunch from 1pm to 4pm, featuring an innovative Pan-Asian menu with selected house beverages. The Friday night ritual, the Demon Friday Feast, unfolds with a sharing tower of starters, freshly folded dim sum, wok-fired favourites, and roasted house signatures alongside crafted cocktails. The atmosphere is smart casual, and the restaurant is open Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm to 12am.
