The story
Ibn Albahr, which translates to "son of the sea", sits along the shoreline of Club Vista Mare on Palm Jumeirah. The restaurant brings the essence of the Mediterranean to Dubai, inspired by coastal traditions where seafood is a way of life shared in good company. The setting is simple and direct: waves within earshot, a breeze off the water, and hospitality that feels like a homecoming to the Lebanese shores.
Every day’s catch is displayed on ice at the fish counter, waiting to be prepared as the guest wishes. Choices include Red Snapper with Sultan Ibrahim or Lobster with local Emirati bait – but the real draw is the freshness and the freedom to pick your fish. The kitchen works in time-honoured recipes that let the sea speak. Before the main event, a spread of many-colored mezze fills the table with flavours and textures, setting the tone for a meal that celebrates the ocean’s treasures.
Ibn Albahr has earned a place in the Michelin Guide, receiving the Bib Gourmand distinction from 2022 to 2025 and a Michelin Recommended nod in 2026. The restaurant’s approach – straightforward, ingredient-driven Lebanese seafood – has also won Best Seafood at the Fact Dining Awards 2025 and the Time Out Awards 2023. With locations now in Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Batroun (Lebanon), the original Dubai outpost remains the flagship, a beachfront spot where the rhythm of the sea sets the pace.
