The story
The Bunch of Grapes is a family-run pub-restaurant in the market town of Bradford-on-Avon, near Bath. Behind it are husband-and-wife team Head Chef Tony Casey and Operations Director Maylee Speller. Their focus is on high-quality Seasonal Modern British food, with produce sourced to highlight British ingredients at their best. The restaurant has earned a place in the Michelin Guide, a two-rosette AA rating, and a mention in The Good Food Guide.
Head Chef Tony Casey and his small team create seasonal dishes that balance flavour, style and texture. The à la carte menu changes with the seasons – you might find Cornish crab with watermelon gazpacho, Creedy Carver duck with beetroot and cherry, or a hay pannacotta with strawberries. For a broader experience, a 5- or 7-course tasting menu is available Wednesday to Saturday, showcasing the kitchen’s range.
Sunday roasts are a highlight: choose from beef sirloin with horseradish, pork belly with crackling, or a sharing lamb platter; vegetarian and vegan options include a mushroom and pine nut pithivier. All come with Yorkshire pudding and bottomless gravy. On Saturdays and Sundays, The Bunch of Bakes offers pastries, breads, biscuits and coffee. The drinks list leans on south-west English producers, with beers from Bristol’s Lost And Grounded brewery and seasonal cocktails.
The Bunch of Grapes is open Thursday to Sunday for lunch and dinner, with breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays. The ground floor is dog-friendly. Upstairs, two first-floor dining rooms are available for private parties, weddings, workshops or intimate events. The team works with guests to create bespoke menus for any occasion. Whether you stop by for a quick drink at the bar or settle in for a full tasting menu, the welcome is genuine and the cooking is precise.
