The story

Hart's Bakery Bristol: Artisan Sourdough and Savouries in a Railway Arch

The Victorian Railway Arch Kitchen

Hart's Bakery operates from a large Victorian railway arch at Bristol Temple Meads station, where bread, pastries, and savouries are prepared, baked, and sold within one open space. Moveable counters on castors allow customers to browse the display while a gleaming coffee machine sits ready near the workflow. The layout keeps the energy of production visible, with coffee sourced from local Extract roastery.

Sourdough and Seasonal Savouries

The bakery specialises in sourdough and handmade pastries alongside seasonal cakes and savouries designed for both takeaway and lingering meals. Regular favourites include doorstep sourdough toasties and cinnamon buns, while the daily lunch menu features options like chicken and tomato broth served with asparagus and peas. A small kitchen team devises these dishes to complement the core repertoire, ensuring fresh savoury goods arrive throughout the day.
