The story
RAGÙ is a small, welcoming Italian sharing plates restaurant in Wapping Wharf, Bristol. The team behind it describes it as a love letter to the wonderful food, culture, and warm hospitality experienced in Italy. The focus is simple: quality ingredients, prepared simply, with love.
From the team behind the acclaimed COR restaurant, RAGÙ is the second venture of husband-and-wife team Mark and Karen Chapman. Mark’s extensive experience includes leading Gambas tapas bar, which earned a Michelin plate, and now both COR and RAGÙ have been awarded a Bib Gourmand by the Michelin Guide – a mark of good quality, good value cooking. RAGÙ made the list in 2025 and 2026, placing it among the UK’s best for accessible, excellent food.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Vyck Colsell, with Head Chef Chris Evans and Restaurant Manager Mia Fleur Virdee at the helm day-to-day. The menu changes seasonally, offering a selection of sharing plates that highlight the best of Italian cuisine. Guests can come alone for an aperitif, enjoy a full family feast, or simply drop in for a slice of the infamous tiramisu. The restaurant welcomes walk-ins as much as reservations.
RAGÙ’s ethos extends beyond the plate. The team is deeply committed to community, working with local and national charities, and supporting causes from education in Kenya to homelessness in the UK. The space itself is designed to be accessible, with disabled access via the Wapping Wharf car park and lift.
Located in the vibrant Cargo 2 development, RAGÙ offers a genuine taste of Italian warmth and flavour in the heart of Bristol. It’s a place where good food and good people come together, simply and with love.
