The story
The Bell Inn, a much-loved local pub in the village of Langford near Burford, was reopened in December 2017 by Peter Creed and Tom Noest. Born and bred Cotswold gents, they have transformed this historic inn into a modern country pub that stays true to its roots. The Bell quickly earned a place on the Michelin Recommended list for 2026, a recognition of its straightforward, well-executed British contemporary cooking and warm hospitality.
At the heart of the offer is a classic British menu, given a lift by wood-fired dishes cooked in a pizza oven visible from the restaurant. The kitchen focuses on hearty, simple food, complemented by a carefully chosen wine list, spirits, and a solid beer selection. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with a cosy bar area for a quiet drink, a separate restaurant warmed by an open fire, and a large beer garden that looks out over open countryside.
The pair’s philosophy is clear: great hospitality and a focus on ambience, with a menu that showcases their love for British contemporary cuisine. The Bell Inn offers lunch and dinner service throughout the week, with Sunday lunch a particular draw. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint by the fire or settling in for a wood-fired feast, this is a pub that understands what makes a proper meal out.
