The story
The Three Oaks opened in the lovely village of Gerrards Cross in July 2011 and has been a fixture on the Buckinghamshire dining scene ever since. An award-winning gastro pub, it balances the warmth of a neighbourhood local with the precision of a serious kitchen. The team – Wes, Jethro, Ellie, Liam, Katherine, Henry and the wider Three Oaks family – run the place with evident pride, and it shows in the consistency of both food and service.
The restaurant has held a place in the Michelin Guide every year since 2012, and in 2026 it was awarded a Bib Gourmand – Michelin’s mark for good quality, good value cooking. That recognition speaks to what regulars have long appreciated: thoughtful Modern British cooking that changes with the seasons, offered at fair prices.
The kitchen serves lunch Wednesday to Saturday (12-2pm) and dinner Wednesday to Saturday (6-9pm), with Sunday lunch running from 12-5:30pm. The seasonal à la carte menu is changed regularly based on what’s best, and the team also offers a set lunch menu they call the best value in Bucks and Berks. Weekend specials and a proper Sunday lunch round out the options. Guests praise the food as innovative, beautifully presented, and delicious, and the wine list is noted for being very good and reasonably priced.
The Three Oaks is the kind of place where tables are well-spaced and the staff are charming and well-trained. Even on a busy Saturday night, service remains efficient and welcoming. The bar is open Wednesday to Saturday until 11pm and Sunday until 7pm, making it a comfortable spot for a drink as well as a full meal. Whether it’s a leisurely lunch, a celebratory dinner, or a family Sunday roast, the aim is simple: to make every visit memorable.
