The story
In the quiet Cotswolds village of Kineton, near Cheltenham, Halfway at Kineton is a modern British pub that has earned a Michelin Recommended nod for 2026. The team champions local producers, bringing the best of the region to the table. Think Cotswold flour from Matthews Mill, meats from David Moore Family Butcher, and cured goods from Salt Pig Curing Co.
The kitchen serves a menu that balances nibbles, small plates, and a standout pizza program. The dough is naturally fermented for four to five days, blending Neapolitan and New York styles. Toppings range from a classic Margherita to the ‘Diablo’ with ‘Nduja sausage and hot honey, or the ‘Pantera’ with fennel sausage, rosemary, and thyme. Small plates include salt and pepper squid with harissa emulsion, rare breed pork belly bites with sriracha, and whipped smoked cod’s roe on O&B focaccia.
Sundays are a proper affair: double-spud roasts, brisket-filled Yorkshire puddings, and plenty of gravy. Desserts stay simple—tiramisu, burnt Basque cheesecake, or a naughty affogato.
The pub itself feels grounded and welcoming, with outdoor seating for warmer days. It’s a place built on good ingredients and honest cooking, where the Cotswolds landscape meets a kitchen that knows exactly what it’s doing.
