The story

Eckington Manor: Modern Cuisine & Michelin-Recommended Dining in Eckington

A Country House Built on a Love of Food

At Eckington Manor, food is the thread that weaves through everything. This beautifully restored country house, set on a working farm in the Worcestershire countryside on the edge of the Cotswolds, was born from founder Judy Gardner’s lifelong passion for honest, seasonal cooking. After spending three decades in the food industry, she bought the run-down Manor Farm in 2004 and transformed it into a place where guests can eat, stay, and learn, all driven by a core belief: buy British, favour local, and honour seasonality.

Dining Driven by the Land

The kitchen at Eckington Manor is guided by its own land. The estate includes an award-winning farm, an orchard, and kitchen gardens that supply the kitchen directly, ensuring that the modern cuisine on the plate is fully traceable and prepared to let natural flavours shine. The menus are a blend of British and European influences, with forays further afield, and change with the seasons.

The dinner menu, served Wednesday to Saturday, might begin with a citrus and fennel cured trout or a guinea fowl and rabbit terrine. Mains could include belly of Gloucestershire Old Spot pork with sweet potato and Earl Grey-soaked prune, or fillet of Cornish pollock with asparagus and wild garlic sauce. Desserts like a dark chocolate and brown butter delice showcase the kitchen’s precision and care.

A Destination Recognised by Michelin

This commitment to quality has earned Eckington Manor a place in the Michelin Guide, a recognition that speaks to the consistency and character of the cooking. It's a destination that feels as comfortable for a special dinner as it does for a leisurely Sunday lunch or an afternoon tea in the countryside.

More Than a Restaurant

Eckington Manor is also home to a cookery school that offers courses from basic knife skills to advanced techniques, and its recently restored rooms are spread across four converted farm buildings, each retaining original beams and flagstones. Whether you come for a three-course dinner, a midweek break, or to learn a new skill in the kitchen, the philosophy is the same: good food, in a relaxed atmosphere, with every detail taken care of.
