The story
Since opening its doors in November 2018, Larder has become a cornerstone of the Lichfield dining scene. What began as a casual fine dining spot has matured into a relaxed, grill-first brasserie, all rooted in bold flavours and honest ingredients. The team transformed a former photographic studio on Bore Street into a modern restaurant in just ten weeks, driven by a vision to bring something special to their home town.
The kitchen is led by Head Chef Alex Wickham, who began his career as a kitchen assistant at 15. His menus blend traditional dishes with modern techniques, using local produce and seasonal ingredients to enhance the flavours. Whether cooking a seven-course tasting menu or a prime beef burger, the same passion for perfection applies. The meat comes from trusted local butchers, and the produce is seasonal and fresh.
General Manager Alec Robotham, with over a decade of experience, ensures guests receive a warm welcome and feel at home. The family-run ethos extends to the whole team, who share the goal of providing the best possible dining experience.
Larder offers a fixed-price menu for lunch and dinner, with two courses for £24.50 or three for £27.50. The Sunday lunch menu is a particular highlight, and the restaurant has become a go-to spot for a standout roast. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, designed for casual catch-ups, Friday night steaks, and everything in between.
This commitment to quality has earned Larder a place in the Michelin Guide, reinforcing its reputation as a destination for modern cuisine in Lichfield.
