The story
In the heart of Mayfair on Berkeley Square, Amazónico London brings the energy and flavours of Latin America to the British capital. This is the first restaurant outside Spain from husband-and-wife team Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, who originally opened Amazónico in Madrid in 2016, where it quickly became one of the city's most beloved dining destinations.
The London outpost takes its inspiration from the Amazon region—not just its landscapes, but its cultural diversity and gastronomic heritage. As Silva puts it: “The Amazon is more than a river, it connects people, cultures and traditions. This, together with an homage to nature, is at the core of our concept.”
The setting, designed by internationally renowned artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan, is an immersive environment of rainforest-inspired lush greenery and natural materials. Open from lunch until late, the restaurant offers a layered experience: live band performances in the main dining room, and resident DJs spinning ‘elec-tropical’ sounds in the Bar & Lounge.
The kitchen blends tropical and Latin American cuisines, drawing not only from the countries of the Amazon basin but also from the Asian and Mediterranean communities that have shaped the region’s food. Expect Peruvian sushi, the freshest raw seafood, and carefully sourced grilled meats and fish, prepared with both traditional and cutting-edge techniques using seasonal, vibrant ingredients.
The quality of the experience has not gone unnoticed. Amazónico London holds a Michelin Recommended award for 2026, a testament to the consistency and ambition of the kitchen.
Whether you come for the South American cooking, the cocktails, or the electric atmosphere, Amazónico London offers a distinctive night out in Mayfair.
