The story
CORD by Le Cordon Bleu is the first fine dining restaurant in London from the legendary culinary arts institute. Housed in a Grade II listed Lutyens-designed building on Fleet Street, the restaurant marries timeless elegance with a distinctly modern approach.
The kitchen is led by Executive Chef Karl O'Dell, whose background includes stints at Michelin-starred Texture and Gordon Ramsay's Petrus. He works alongside Head Chef Alin Ciubotaru, crafting menus that reflect the best seasonal produce sourced from around the British Isles. The team’s cooking is rooted in classical technique but expressed with a contemporary, creative flair—a hallmark of the Le Cordon Bleu philosophy.
The result is a modern cuisine that changes with the seasons. A lunch tasting menu might begin with a slow poached hen’s egg with truffle and asparagus, followed by BBQ monkfish with grilled avocado and lime, then Norfolk Black Leg chicken. The evening tasting menu is more expansive, featuring dishes such as Isle of Skye scallop with Oscietra caviar, Cornish turbot with sea lettuce, and Salt Marsh lamb with morel and peas.
The restaurant adapts to the rhythm of the day. At lunch, it serves as a refined yet relaxed hub for business and social gatherings, with a well-crafted wine list and a set menu. By night, the atmosphere shifts, offering an intimate setting for everything from tables for two to larger private events. Private dining rooms, including the Viceroy and Reuters rooms, are also available.
CORD’s recognition in the Michelin Guide for 2026 affirms the precision and ambition of the kitchen. It is a restaurant that draws on a storied 130-year heritage to create something distinctly of the moment.
