The story
Farm Shop Mayfair anchors a British cooking philosophy rooted in its 1,000-acre Somerset estate within a Mayfair landmark that once served as Constance Spry's florist studio. The Artfarm group opened this space in December 2023 to bridge the gap between rural production and urban life, offering a four-thousand-square-foot destination where fresh produce meets everyday meals.
An in-house forager shapes a hyper-seasonal wild food range, while the main kitchen prepares cheeses, condiments, and rustic dishes using ingredients sourced directly from Durslade Farm. The menu focuses on accessible yet refined plates, featuring artisan charcuterie boards, daily toasties, and substantial options like minestrone soup and pot au feu that demonstrate a farm-to-table approach to British cooking grounded in seasonal reality.
Descending to the lower-ground floor reveals a wine bar defined by concrete flooring, French antiques, and original artwork commissioned from the Royal Drawing School under artist Luis Laplace. The collection features works created by alumni who studied on the Somerset estate, linking the visual environment directly to the agricultural roots of the food and drink served in this intimate setting.
The wine program complements the kitchen with a list extending to two hundred bins, providing by-the-glass access to distinct styles like Le Grappin's skin-contact Aligoté and the renowned Tignanello. This selection allows diners to pair their cheeseboards, charcuterie, and daily specials with exploring options from around the world, reinforcing the focus on quality and provenance.
