Kudu Marylebone: South African Dining in Central London | wattafork

The founders and their journey

Kudu Marylebone brings South African cooking to central London under the direction of Amy Corbin and Patrick Williams. This husband and wife team recently moved their acclaimed collective from Peckham after eight successful years. Their relocation marks a deliberate shift toward the heart of the capital while maintaining the same culinary foundation. The Good Food Guide Readers Recommend 2026 recognizes their consistent approach to regional South African flavours.

The open fire concept

The venue centres its cooking around an open fire layout that powers the dedicated Kudu Grill space. This arrangement lets the kitchen apply direct heat to ingredients without relying on complex machinery. The method aligns with the broader South African culinary tradition of simple, high heat preparation. Diners experience the results directly through the flagship dining room.

Three spaces under one roof

Fabled Studio redesigned the Marylebone address to house the flagship restaurant, the Kudu Grill, and Curious Kudu private dining beneath one roof. The collective previously operated across separate locations in Peckham before merging these concepts at the new site. Guests can navigate between the open fire counter and formal dining areas while staying within the same building. The unified layout supports both casual meals and structured group bookings.
