The story
Kudu arrived in London in 2025 when husband-and-wife team Amy Corbin and Patrick Williams relocated their South African-inspired kitchen from Peckham to Marylebone. The move followed recent National Restaurant Awards recognition and gave the couple a chance to consolidate three separate venues onto Moxon Street. They selected this neighbourhood for its quiet community rhythm, which closely mirrored the area that originally nurtured their business. An open-fire braai grill now anchors the entire operation.
Patrick Williams draws directly from his Cape Town upbringing to shape a menu built on live-fire cooking. Modern European foundations blend with familiar South African techniques throughout the dining room. Guests regularly order the house-baked bread served alongside various flavoured butters. The peri-peri prawns remain a steady favourite alongside new recipes developed specifically for the larger kitchen space.
The dining room features earthy pink plaster walls that echo Cape Town sunsets. Heavy red marble tables reference the rocky Karoo landscape while woven rope accents nod to coastal beachside spots. These material choices avoid theatrical staging in favour of grounded textures that match the food. The layout keeps the open kitchen visible so visitors can watch the flames work.
