Lita

Lita in Marylebone, London, is a Michelin-starred Mediterranean restaurant guided by fire, seasonal produce, and the generous spirit of abuelita.

The story

Lita | Michelin-Starred Modern Mediterranean in Marylebone, London

Named after the Spanish word for grandmother—abuelita—Lita brings a deeply generous philosophy to the heart of Marylebone Village. Since opening in spring 2024, this Michelin-starred restaurant has established itself as a neighbourhood destination defined by its open layout, convivial energy, and cooking that revolves around the open fire.

At the helm is Culinary Director Kostas Papathanasiou, whose pedigree includes stints as Executive Chef at three-Michelin-starred Restaurant Frantzén in Stockholm, as well as time at The Fat Duck and The Ledbury. His kitchen follows the rhythm of the seasons, sourcing responsibly and letting the ingredients speak. The Mediterranean cuisine here is intentionally simple: precise, free of unnecessary technique, and built for clarity of flavour. Dishes are gathered around the fire, but the expression is modern.

The restaurant's Michelin star recognises the quality of this cooking—high-quality, produce-led, and delivered with finesse. Lita’s atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with counter dining adding to the sense of connection between the kitchen and the room. It is a place where the finest cooking feels generous, not precious.
