The story
After 14 wonderful years, Little Social closed its doors – but the memory of this Michelin-Recommended neighbourhood bistro endures. Across the street from its sibling, Mary’s on Pollen Street, Little Social was Jason Atherton’s vision of a small, welcoming bistro with a hint of French influence and a strong sense of place.
Simplicity and elegance defined the space. A neutral palette with earth tones, pale pinks, and deep blues created an intimate backdrop, while rattan light fittings and timber panels added natural warmth. Duck-egg blue banquettes offered comfort, and a small counter bar served seasonal cocktails rooted in British mixology.
Head Chef Sam Prichard took the helm in summer 2022, bringing vibrant energy and creative flair. He trained closely with Alex Parker from Mary’s, refining his craft and developing an inventive approach to modern British cuisine. Together with Atherton, Prichard crafted dishes using the finest seasonal and local ingredients – such as Whole Dorset lemon sole with brown butter and Morecambe Bay shrimps, a standout from the gallery. The kitchen also offered a prix fixe menu: two courses for £27, three for £30, served lunch and early dinner.
Executive Sommelier Roxane Dupuy curated a French-focused wine list celebrating classic regions and old-world producers, with several wines by the glass. The team’s warm, attentive service reflected the restaurant’s name – friendly, unstuffy, but exacting.
Little Social hosted private gatherings in a semi-private room seating six, or exclusive hire for up to 55 guests. The flexibility made it a popular choice for family dinners, corporate events, and celebrations.
Though Little Social is no longer open, its legacy as a Michelin-Recommended modern British bistro in the heart of Mayfair remains a cherished chapter in London’s dining scene.
