The story
Look for the yellow door on Willow Street. Inside, Llama Inn brings a modern take on Peruvian cuisine to Shoreditch, pairing it with a rooftop terrace and greenhouse dining room that feel a world away from the city below. The restaurant earned a Michelin Recommended distinction for its bold, confident cooking.
Llama Inn first opened in Brooklyn in 2015, quickly becoming a cult favourite with a freewheeling, upbeat approach to Peruvian food. Chef Erik Ramirez, a James Beard Award finalist, built a menu rooted in his Peruvian-American heritage. The London outpost continues that spirit: dishes celebrate Peru’s diverse culinary traditions, interpreted through a contemporary New York lens. The result is Peruvian food that feels both deeply authentic and refreshingly original.
The bar focuses on Pisco and Latin American spirits, while the wine list highlights small, low-intervention producers from South America to southern Europe. The menu changes regularly – look for a lunch menu on weekdays, an à la carte selection, and sharing menus for groups of four or more. Walk-ins are welcome, and the rooftop comes alive with monthly summer sessions featuring DJs, live performances, BBQ, and oysters.
The greenhouse restaurant and rooftop terrace are open seven days a week for lunch, dinner, and drinks. It’s a place built for lingering – whether you’re there for a full meal or just sunset cocktails. The energy is warm, unpretentious, and unmistakably shaped by two great food cities: Lima and New York.
