The story

Mayha London – Omakase Dining in Marylebone | Michelin Recommended

Welcome to Mayha

On a quiet street in Marylebone, behind an unassuming door, Mayha offers an omakase experience that is both ritual and conversation. With only eleven seats around a sleek, curved wooden counter, the focus is on the chef’s craft and the trust between diner and kitchen. Omakase, meaning “I leave it up to you,” is a Japanese tradition where the chef selects and prepares each course based on the season, the ingredients, and the energy of the room. No two nights are the same.

The Michelin Guide has recognised Mayha’s dedication, recommending it year after year. This is Japanese cuisine at its most personal and precise.

The Omakase Experience

At Mayha, the menu changes with the seasons. Ingredients are sourced at their peak, and the rhythm of the meal follows the room. Lunch offers a refined yet efficient omakase: two starters, a crisp salad, a selection of nigiri, a comforting bowl, and a delicate dessert, priced at £100. An exclusive lunch bento box is available by pre-reservation. Dinner unfolds Tuesday to Saturday with two seatings, at 6:00 pm and 8:30 pm, featuring a longer journey through seasonality and craftsmanship at £200. Each course is a tribute to Japanese tradition, from expertly sliced sashimi to perfectly grilled fish.

The atmosphere is intimate, filled with the quiet energy of culinary mastery. Guests have a front-row view of the chefs’ meticulous preparations. This isn’t just food—it’s a conversation in texture, temperature, timing, and care.

Arriving at Mayha

The entrance is marked by a rabbit. Ring the doorbell and await a gracious welcome. The space is designed for immersion, with no room for dietary substitutions—the menu is crafted as a whole. Walk-ins are welcome at lunch, but dinner is reservation-only. Allow approximately two hours for the full experience.

Mayha’s recognition in the Michelin Guide reflects its commitment to an authentic, seasonal omakase that feels both timeless and immediate. In the heart of London, it offers a genuine connection to Japanese cuisine.
