Takahashi London – Intimate Omakase in South Wimbledon | Michelin Recommended

Takahashi – An intimate omakase experience in South Wimbledon

In the winter of 2015, Nobuhisa and Yuko Takahashi opened a small, focused restaurant on Merton Road in South Wimbledon. With just eight seats, Takahashi is a space built for precision and personal connection. The couple’s vision is clear: Japanese cuisine rooted in tradition, where hand-picked ingredients speak for themselves.

The cooking here is defined by natural, clean flavours. Every dish reflects a commitment to quality and seasonality, with an emphasis on fine dining that stays true to healthy values. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service informed but never stiff – the kind of place where the personal touch of the team makes the meal feel like a quiet conversation.

Takahashi’s omakase menu is the heart of the experience. Guests place their trust in the kitchen, and the kitchen responds with a sequence of dishes built around the best of what’s available. The restaurant’s Michelin Recommended status, awarded for 2026, recognises the consistency and integrity of this approach.

For those who want to continue the experience at home, Takahashi also offers a selection of products under the name “Takahashi at Home.” The restaurant is open Wednesday through Sunday, with a notable sake list that complements the seasonal Japanese menu.
