The story
Tamarind brings the sensory joys of Indian cuisine to Mayfair, casting them in a beautiful new light. It made history as the first Indian restaurant in London to receive a Michelin star, and continues to earn accolades, including a Michelin Recommended distinction for 2026 and a place on Open Table’s Top 100 Restaurants of 2025. The restaurant’s delicately floral surroundings set the stage for a dining experience that honours diverse regional cooking methods, with the tandoor at the heart of the kitchen.
The light and airy dining room spans two floors. On the lower level, guests can watch the spectacle of the open kitchen; upstairs, views of Queen Street and private gardens create a calm, garden-inspired atmosphere. A terrace offers sun-dappled lunches and sparkling evenings, with cocktails, small plates, and full dinner service as day turns to night.
