The story
At Seasonality in Maidenhead, Wesley and Francesca Smalley have created a neighbourhood restaurant that puts flavour at the centre of everything. The concept is straightforward: delicious food, a solid wine list, and friendly service – the elements that make a good local restaurant great. Their approach has earned a Michelin recommendation, a recognition that speaks to the quality and consistency of what they do.
Chef Wesley Smalley’s cooking is shaped by a life spent immersed in food. From his early years in Hong Kong to travelling and working across the world, and later in London kitchens, his style is unapologetically flavour-first. “It’s my hope that my sheer passion for food and love of travel shines through on the plate,” he says. The goal is to get the most out of the best possible produce, letting seasonal ingredients lead the way.
The menu changes with the seasons, reflecting a commitment to modern cuisine that is both ingredient-led and seasonally focused. A new lunch menu offers individually priced dishes suited to a lighter appetite and shorter time frame, while the regular two- and three-course menus are available for lunch and dinner. Special events, like the seven-course tasting supper on Saturday 27th June, showcase a broader range of seasonal ingredients in a more elaborate format.
Seasonality also offers a “Dine at Home” option, with dinner boxes available to order. For those hosting a party, wedding, or corporate event, the restaurant is available for exclusive hire (up to 30 guests seated) or outside catering at a chosen location. The team works with each client to create a bespoke set menu, ensuring the same attention to detail and quality produce that defines the restaurant experience.
