The story

Bundobust Manchester Piccadilly | Vibrant Indian Vegetarian Street Food

From a Tweet to the Kitchen

Bundobust Manchester Piccadilly serves vibrant Indian vegetarian street food. The concept traces its roots to a 2013 message between Mayur Patel and Marko Husak. Patel brings his culinary training from the acclaimed family restaurant Prashad, while Husak previously operated The Sparrow craft beer bar. Their initial pop-up experiments evolved into a permanent venue when this location opened in 2016. Today, executive chef Gopi guides the kitchen, translating those early supper club concepts into a steady menu of Gujarati-inspired plates.

Plates Built for Sharing

The kitchen focuses on plant-forward dishes that skip heavy cream sauces in favor of bright spices and crisp textures. Okra fries arrive dusted with tangy seasoning, while bhel puri mixes puffed rice and vegetables into a lively snack. Paneer tikka and spinach kofta offer heartier options, and Raghda Pethis layers garam masala-spiced mushy peas with potato cakes and tamarind sauce. Guests typically order two or three items per person to experience the full range of techniques.

Space and Sip

The dining room sits just off Piccadilly, buffered from street noise by banquette seating and a large central skylight. Vintage Bollywood posters line the walls above communal tables designed for group dining. This casual layout earned the spot a Local Gem designation from The Good Food Guide in 2026, noting how the design keeps the energy high without sacrificing comfort. Patrons pair meals with house-brewed beers like Dhania Pilsner or browse a rotating selection of regional craft ales.
