The story
Perched on the sea wall at Watergate Bay, Zacry's brings a refined yet relaxed perspective to dining in Newquay. The restaurant's philosophy is built on provenance, place, and perspective, with seasonally changing menus that draw from the best of Cornish seas, fields, and market gardens.
The kitchen's modern cuisine is showcased through dishes that highlight local hero ingredients. Signature plates include local scallops with pork belly, brill with smoked trout roe, and a local honey and white chocolate parfait. A butcher's block laden with the finest Cornish and European cheeses offers a savoury finish. For those who want to taste more, the tasting menu — available on early sittings and priced at £120 — presents a sequence of seasonal courses, with optional wine pairings. Larger versions of these dishes also appear on the standard à la carte menu.
The setting is as compelling as the food. With front-row seats to Atlantic sunsets, the dining room offers elegant horizon views. The restaurant's Michelin Recommended status, awarded in 2026, reflects the consistency and ambition of the cooking here.
Zacry's is open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner, from 5pm to 8.30pm. The restaurant is fully accessible via Sea Lane and is cashless. Younger guests are catered for with a children's menu that uses the same daily ingredients, simply prepared — pan-fried Newlyn hake with mashed potato and greens, followed by a handcrafted mini strawberry and white chocolate magnum.
