The story
The Victoria has stood on Oxshott High Street for over a century, and since 2021 a new team has revived its place at the centre of village life. With crackling log fires in winter and a stunning beer garden for the warmer months, it’s a pub that balances comfort with ambition.
The Victoria holds three AA Rosettes and was named a Michelin Recommended restaurant in 2026. Head Chef Daniel Lee, whose career includes time at Pennyhill Park and Seasons Kitchen in Windlesham, leads a kitchen that focuses on modern British cuisine. The menu changes daily, built around the finest local and seasonal ingredients sourced from partners such as Surrey Hills Butchers and Surrey Hills Deli.
Dining options range from a daily à la carte menu to the famously popular Sunday roast. There is also a children’s menu, and a dedicated dessert menu for those with a sweet tooth.
The restaurant offers an elegant yet relaxed setting, while the bar serves a carefully curated selection of beers, wines, cocktails and soft drinks – perfect for a casual drink and a bite. The bar menu features snacks, small plates, and Victoria classics, including homemade Scotch egg, battered haddock, and a Victoria burger.
When the weather allows, the beer garden (open May to September) is a glorious space for alfresco dining, after-work drinks, or summer parties.
The Victoria is more than just a pub. Private dining rooms, a drawing room, and the garden terrace are available for intimate occasions and larger celebrations. The team, led by General Manager Taylor Bryant-Wilkinson, also hosts weekly live music, guest chef nights, supper clubs, and seasonal events that keep the pub firmly rooted in the local community.
With its combination of historic charm and serious cooking, The Victoria is one of Surrey’s finest pubs – and a destination worthy of its Michelin recommendation.
