The story
The Grandtully Hotel is the heart of Ballintaggart, a refined rural destination in Highland Perthshire created by brothers Chris and Andrew Rowley. Set on the A827 between Ballinluig and Aberfeldy, the hotel offers twelve individually designed bedrooms and a restaurant that has earned a Michelin Recommended award.
The kitchen focuses on seasonal Scottish ingredients. Menus change frequently to reflect what is available from local artisans and suppliers. Guests can choose from a seasonal à la carte menu or a seven-course tasting menu, served Thursday to Saturday with optional wine pairings. The cooking is unmistakably Ballintaggart: packed with local produce and seasonal flavours, served with thoughtful charm. Everything from morning granola to bar snacks and cocktails is prepared with the same care.
The restaurant is the perfect place for small sharing bites, a light lunch, or a full dinner. Private dining is also available. The team describes Ballintaggart as a home from home, blending rural luxury with outstanding Scottish food.
Beyond the hotel, the Ballintaggart family includes Ballintaggart Farm, where Feast Nights and Slow Sunday lunches take place, as well as a Cook School, event spaces, and a wedding venue. They also run several shops across Perthshire and offer private catering.
This is Modern British cooking rooted in the landscape of Highland Perthshire, recognised by Michelin for its quality and consistency.
