The story
Osip is a farm-to-table restaurant and rooms set in a former 300-year-old country inn, at the foot of a pine forest in the rolling hills of Somerset. The team grows much of the produce themselves on a nearby farm, and the menu changes daily to reflect what the land offers.
There is no printed menu at Osip. Instead, the kitchen curates a progression of around eight courses — small snacks, savoury courses, desserts and petit fours — that together tell the story of a particular time and place in Somerset. The tasting menu is £165 per person; a shorter three-course table d’hôte menu (£75) and a five-course lunch (£95) are also available. Diners begin with an aperitif in the bar before moving to the dining room, and the experience typically lasts three to three and a half hours.
The beverage programme mirrors the food’s philosophy, celebrating small-scale, responsibly farmed winemakers alongside West Country ciders and house-made soft drinks from wild and homegrown ingredients. A soft pairing is offered for those who prefer it.
Above the restaurant, four beautifully designed bedrooms complete the vision of a place where food, drink, art and design come together. Guests can explore the gardens, tour the kitchen, and relax fireside after dinner. The private dining room offers an intimate space for gatherings — shared plates, raised glasses, and celebrated moments.
Osip’s approach has earned it a Michelin star for high-quality cooking, a recognition that feels less like a badge and more like a natural consequence of its deep connection to the land. This is Modern British cooking at its most honest: precise, seasonal, and unmistakably of Somerset.
