The story
Domo Sheffield brings deeply traditional Sardinian cooking to the UK. Owner Raffaele Busceddu founded the spot because domo translates to home in Sardinia. The kitchen operates on a simple premise: everything is made in-house, prioritizing generous portions over micro-garnishes. This commitment to hearty, crowd-pleasing meals earned the venue a solid Good rating in the 2026 Good Food Guide.
The menu opens with blistered pane carasau bread served alongside a rich, cheesy dip. Guests build their meal from antipasti like Sicilian arancini stuffed with beef ragù and melting Taleggio, or king prawns wrapped in crisp carasau pastry. Main courses highlight regional pasta such as culurgiones filled with potato, mint, and garlic, finished with a heavy pecorino and truffle sauce. The owner’s renowned fish stew anchors the seafood offerings. Desserts lean heavily on classic techniques. The tiramisu arrives as a sturdy layer of coffee-soaked biscuits and mascarpone, while the affogato combines vanilla ice cream and espresso.
Housed on the ground floor of Eagle Works, the space preserves the exposed red brick and industrial echoes of its former life as a steel mill. A large terrace extends the dining area for evening aperitivi and sharing platters of cured wild boar ham, buffalo ricotta, figs, and truffle honey. The bar stocks a curated selection of Sardinian and regional Italian wines to match the rustic, unpretentious kitchen. Every element reflects the same straightforward philosophy that drives the rest of the operation. It is a place built for long conversations and substantial plates.
