The story
Jack and Ronnie introduced Pearl at Park Hill to Sheffield in September 2023 as their second venture, extending the successful formula they established with Bench in Nether Edge. The venue occupies a portion of the largest listed building in Europe, an adaptive reuse project that preserves the site's industrial heritage while serving a community of over two thousand residents. Interior design by Rocket Design layers a pearlescent aesthetic over the existing brutalist structure, creating spaces that feel both grounded and distinctly contemporary.
The bar programme features a rotating cocktail menu built around unconventional ingredients such as spent coffee and pea-pod cream. These complex drinks complement a selection of craft beers and natural wines drawn from tap. Kitchen offerings centre on inventive bar food that shifts with the seasons. Chicken wings glazed with harissa and lime provide a spicy counterpoint to salted new potatoes served with house-made aioli. Other preparations include tangy marinated mushrooms intertwined with cured egg yolk and fresh dill.
Pearl has quickly secured its reputation among Sheffield's top destinations, earning a spot in the UK Top 50 Cocktail Bars list and a Local Gem title from the Good Food Guide for 2026. This praise echoes the accolades received by Bench, which claimed Best Local Restaurant honours and also appeared on the cocktail bars ranking. Guests can enjoy these offerings on the terrace during warmer months, where panoramic views stretch across the city skyline. The team maintains a commitment to quality across all bar food and beverage selections, ensuring drinks remain fantastic value despite their inventive nature.
