The story
The Old Bank is an intimate, family-run fine dining restaurant in Snettisham, North Norfolk, owned by Aga and Lewis King. Located just a few miles from Hunstanton and the coast, this small, personal establishment focuses on modern, fresh, and imaginative food, sourcing locally and seasonally whenever possible.
The restaurant has been listed in the prestigious Michelin Guide since 2019. It was also named The Good Food Guide Best Local Restaurant 2019 for the whole of Britain.
The menu changes weekly, sometimes daily, based on the availability of ingredients and their seasonality. The Old Bank offers two set menus: a Shorter menu and a Longer menu, designed to showcase the skills of the chef and the local, seasonal ingredients sourced from incredible suppliers. The Shorter and Longer menus are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays, while Fridays and Saturdays are reserved for the Longer menu exclusively.
The restaurant accommodates dietary requirements with advance notice but does not currently offer a dairy-free, egg-free, or vegan version of its tasting menus.
The Old Bank is a place Aga and Lewis are very proud of, aiming to offer a relaxed and enjoyable experience for every guest. The restaurant is open Wednesday through Saturday from 6pm to 11:30pm. It is closed on Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays. The booking diary opens four months in advance, and the restaurant books up well ahead of time, though a waiting list is available for cancellations.
